Creedence Clearwater Revival Picture
Creedence Clearwater Revival, frequently referred to as CCR or simply Creedence, was an American rock band, fronted by John Fogerty. The band started out as The Blue Velvets, formed by John Fogerty, Doug Clifford, and Stu Cook in El Cerrito, California in the late 1950s. They were an instrumental trio, however during the early '60's they began backing Tom Fogerty, John's older brother, for school dances at El Cerrito High School, on fraternity house gigs and in the recording studio. By the mid 1960s, the band signed a contract with Fantasy Records which was a local label based in San Francisco at that time. They were attracted to the label because Fantasy had released a national hit by Vince Guaraldi, "Cast Your Fate To The Wind".

Need Someone To Hold Lyrics

Creedence Clearwater Revival

The sun came up and pushed away the clouds.
Stumbled back to my room, really dont know how.
I wont wake up til this afternoon,
Been out walkin all night again.
Stranger here tryn to have fun.
Far from home; its just begun.
Chorus:
Give out the warm, it comes back cold.
Oh, god, I need someone to hold.
The coffees cold, its gonna have to do.
My feet are shot, feelin hungry too.
People dont have a thing to say.
Feel your dignity slip away.
Wont wake up til this afternoon.
Waste of time cause theres nothing new.
Chorus
Chorus
A city nice as this one should be kind.
It pushed me down, really dont know why.
When I wake up this afternoon,
Another day to make it through,
Might get lucky and find a dime,
Things dont change, gonna give up tryin.
Chorus
Chorus
Give out the warm, it comes back cold.
